A SPECIAL EVENT: THE LEGEND AND LORE OF CHICO'S MYSTERY TUNNELS

Since Chico's earliest days, there has floated about the community the story that there is a secret network of underground tunnels connecting the older buildings and sections of town. Some would claim that the early Chinese had dug the tunnels to allow movement and activity beyond the scrutiny of the mainstream culture. Molly Meyers will present on what she has "unearthed" as to the truth or falsehood of those old stories. Molly is a junior at California State University, Chico, majoring in Journalism with emphasis in investigative reporting. A paper for a class in Public Affairs Reporting brought her to look into this old Chico story. Come and hear what she concluded. She will use projected images and video to illustrate her presentation. Molly says "I'm new to Chico and I love it!"
