Speaker Andy Mark

Andy Mark’s presentation, “Chico’s Role in the Mad Rush for Silver in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, 1866-67” is one of many stories from his fascinating book, Stories of the Humboldt Wagon Road, published by the History Press in 2020.  This is Andy’s second book, and both have a local history focus.  Andy spent five years combing through regional newspapers to draw out the foundations and details of his book, and his program will dovetail with projected historic images as well as pictures taken by Andy and wife Jill on their numerous exploring adventures into the Black Rock Desert of northwestern Nevada.
