CHICO PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
A DOWNTOWN LANDMARK

In 2018, the Bidwell Presbyterian Church located at First Street and Broadway celebrated its 150th year in Chico. Dave Nopel will present the story of that church, beginning with the arrival of Annie Bidwell in Chico in 1868, the construction of the first prominent church building on the northeast corner of Broadway and Fourth Street, and then the present building was finished in 1910. Nopel will build his presentation around projected pictures, and draw from his family’s long association with that church and his father’s collection of information and images.
