THE TIMES OF THE BARTLETT DRUG COMPANY IN CHICO

Born and raised in Chico, career educator and published author Kathleen Gabriel will give us a preview of her soon-to-be-published book 1905-1971: The Times of the Bartlett Drug Company in Chico. Before the malls and the big box stores, small businesses dominated downtown Chico. Chico’s downtown was the community center for shopping, medical needs, business, entertainment, and social events. This presentation will highlight major events of Chico and the critical role that pharmacies played in the health and welfare of its citizens, with emphasis on the Bartlett Drug Company.
