Local Chico girl, born 1868, Lillian Hayward White, had the sex appeal, talent, and drive that made her a Vaudeville and silent motion picture star. Even with 125 silent films to her credit, her name did not go down in history like so many of her contemporaries. Lillian was the only Chico Gold Star Mother from WW1 who went to France at the government's expense to visit her son's grave. She led a fascinating life, which included drama, murder, stardom, and in the end, brought her back to Chico.
