Description

THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF CHICO'S BARBER NEIGHBORHOOD Presented by Paul Lieberum and Liz Stewart on November 20, 2021 Paul Lieberum and Liz Stewart co-presented this program on Chico’s long-standing southwest neighborhood. Named after The Diamond Match Company’s manager O. C. Barber, today the Barber neighborhood takes in both sides of Park Avenue and from Little Chico Creek on the north to Comanche Creek on the south. Both Paul and Liz are residents of the Barber, and have contributed significantly to the research of their neighborhood and Chico in general through their work with Chico Heritage Association. Watch and find out about the horse track, early hotels, The Diamond Match, distinctive homes, a possible hospital, and more. Chico History Museum Lecture Series - Fall, 2021
