Registration

In 1845, Mexican Governor Pio Pico granted nearly 18,000 acres in what would later be Butte County to American Sebastian Kayser. Today, that land grant is still intact and is being managed by the sixth generation of the same family. Archaeologist Greg White has been recently working on the ranch, and will tell its story through the years. Complimenting his presentation with projected images. The original grant used the Sacramento River as the western boundary, and today considerable ranch lands dedicated to wildlife and conservation along the river.
