Registration is closed

Dave Nopel will tell the story of Chico’s once famous Humboldt Wagon Road which started at the southern end of today's downtown and went east 100 miles to Susanville and then beyond into Nevada and Idaho. Today's California State Highway 32 follows essentially the same route for the first 35 miles east of Chico.

This presentation will be part of a two-day series. Part 1 will be a lecture at the Chico History Museum on Friday, May 18th at 7:00 P.M. Nopel will use pictures to illustrate his presentation.

Part 2 will feature a tour along the old Humboldt Road from Chico to Jonesville and the historic Jonesville Hotel building on Saturday, May 19th at 9:00A.M. Tour starts at the junction of Humboldt Road and Park Avenue in Chico. Coffee and cookies will be served at the conclusion of the tour. Picnic welcome.
