The Jonesville Hotel is the only stagecoach stop that still exists on the old Humboldt Road. The road was commissioned by General John Bidwell in 1863 as a toll road to Susanville, and became a retreat for Chico settlers in the hot summer months.
Chico History Museum and the Jonesville Cabin Owners collaborated to take you on a journey through time. The first event, Humboldt Wagon Road, Yesterday and Today, includes a lecture, to be presented by Dave Nopel on August 14th at the Chico History Museum. One week later, on August 21st, we will present "Stagestop Luncheon at Jonesville Hotel", hosted by the Jonesville Cabin Owners, at their beautiful, historic, newly preserved Jonesville Hotel located in Jonesville, California.
Single Day and Series Tickets are available. Single day ticket includes an Old Fashioned Picnic Lunch, a Guided Tour of Jonesville Hotel, and Presentations by notable speakers and authors. Picnic Lunch will be prepared by the Jonesville Cabin Owners, vegetarian option is available. Series ticket includes entry to both events. DO NOT PURCHASE another ticket if you have purchased a series ticket through "Humboldt Wagon Road, Yesterday and Today Lecture" registration.
Parking is limited. Carpooling is encouraged. Please note that due to its historic nature, Jonesville Hotel and its grounds is not yet ADA accessible. Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/TnSNRonRQE7b3n2C6
